Contribution of €140 per pupil

Dear Parents,
As you know, the school relies heavily on your contributions to finance its ongoing education activities. Historically we have requested two contributions:

in September for ongoing educational costs, and

in November for school maintenance and improvement costs.

As in previous years we are asking that you contribute €140 per child * for the September contribution. This contribution is an essential part of the financing of the direct education of your child and an analysis of what comprises this amount is included under “Common Costs” in your child’s booklist. As in previous years we would request that you include the child’s name on the envelope enclosing the contribution and give it to the class teacher during the first fortnight in September.

The Parents’ Association requested the Board of Management to review the timing of the two contributions, with a view to aligning them. The Board has done this and has agreed that the November contribution will be requested in September. Accordingly, a letter requesting this contribution together with the tax reclaim forms will issue this week. Now parents can make both contributions in September if they wish. The proposed family contribution rates are unchanged from last year and are as follows:

No. of Children

Additional

Voluntary Contribution

1

€110

2

€180

3 or more

€250

Thanking you for your continuing support.

  Yours sincerely,

*Parents of incoming Junior Infant pupils have already paid €150 as a deposit when accepting a place. This will be refunded on receipt of the €140 and the proposed additional voluntary contribution amounts in the table above. Unfortunately, this is necessary to comply with regulations regarding claiming tax rebate on contributions and we are most anxious to maximise the benefit to the school under the scheme.
