We were boarding the bus for our near
destination “The Natural History Museum” on board with us was our Artist in
Residence-Jackie.
In
the Museum we walked around taking Sketches of the most interesting birds and
their features.
In the next Art class we
were put into groups and drew one big bird for each group.
Some of the materials used by our class were plastic
bottles, Feathers, balls, Straws, wire and Paper Mache. We then gave them names.
Such as Tommy and The Dancing Rinkapin.
Most of the groups used Papeir mache as their bodies
and some of their heads. We then decorated the body pieces. The next week we
started sticking them together.
They were now finished and ready to be put up. The finished results of the birds were very rewarding and we are all very pleased with the work we put in to them. Jackie was very helpful and encouraging to us and we are very thankful for that!
