Status: Endangered

Facts: 1. The whale has bluish-grey skin.

           2. He/she is 70-80 metres in length

           3. The female is larger than the male. 

           4. They can weigh from 70-150 pounds

           5. The lifespan of a blue whale is 80 years.

Behaviour: The Blue Whale swims 14 miles per hour.

                    When it dives it last for 15-20 minutes.

                  They usually travel alone.  

Environment/Habitat: Blue Whales are found throughout the world’s oceans.

Threats: There threats are entanglements in fishnets, pollution and illegal                                                      whaling.

Protection: An international treaty with more then 144 members.
