Camogie
is a big sport in Scoil San Treasa. Many girls participate in this Gaelic Game.
The Camogie A's are coached by Ms Redmond, while the Camogie B's are managed by
Miss. Nic Fheorais and Miss. O’ Connor. Ms. Mc Laughlin, Ms. O’Mahony and
Miss Kelly come out to help during the training sessions. Second class, third,
and fourth class come out on a Tuesday to train in Deer Park, while Fifth and
Sixth come out on a Thursday, but more regularly when the matches start.
This
year both Camogie teams did really well, and although our Junior team lost a few
matches they never gave up and the school is very proud of them. The A team won
all their matches this year beating, St. Agnes, Scoil Lorcan, Assumption
Walkinstown, St. Pius and many other teams. After much hard work they reached
the semi-final. Scoil San Treasa had got to Croke Park last year, a brilliant
achievement and the hoped to do the same this year. Unfortunately, after
battling so hard, they lost by two goals, 3-1 the score. Kallianne Farren scored
the goal for our side. The team were very disappointed. They have a match next
Thursday and hopefully they will do well.
