CIRCULAR TO ALL PARENTS, No. 7, 20th January, 2010.

Special Goal Jersey Day

We have decided  to hold a special Goal Jersey Day on Friday 22nd January in aid of  Haitian earthquake appeal. Pupils are invited to wear a jersey of their choice (or alternative “non uniform” top) and to contribute a minimum of  €2 to the school’s earthquake fund. All monies received will be forwarded to Goal in the name of Scoil San Treasa to support the organisation’s work in Haiti..

Security

All visitors to the school are asked to report to the secretary’s office. Parents wishing to see a teacher who have made a previous arrangement can go directly to the teacher, all others should see the secretary first. Visitors other than parents or people known to staff will be asked to wear a visitor badge while on the premises during school hours. When the side entrance door is repaired, it will have controlled access, similar to the front door. Other doors have coded locks. Dave, our facilities person ensures that all doors are closed after  9.00a.m. All four prefabs have panic buttons and all classrooms have telephone extensions.

(When the side door is repaired, we will revert to using it rather than the front door for pupil access in the morning, to conserve heat, etc.)

Home-School Communication

You should have received a number of text messages from me regarding the closures due to the weather and I hope the alerts and updates on the website were helpful. Please ensure that one parent/guardian is subscribed to receive text alerts from the school. To join the group, send the following text to 53215:

JOIN sstreasa 0872136018 Child’s NameF/M  (Insert your child’s name + F for father or M for mother)

We now have 280 subscribers but, as we have 300 families and both parents are subscribed in some cases, more than twenty families are still not receiving our texts. If you have any difficulties subscribing, please contact us.
