School will close at 12.00 noon, tomorrow, Tuesday 22nd and reopen on Thursday 7th January, 2010.
Board of Management Appeal
On behalf of the board of Management, I thank all those who have responded to the annual appeal, and in particular to those who completed tax forms to enable us to claim from Revenue for the last few years. We have been informed that a cheque for a sum in excess of €38,000 will issue in the near future. I thank our treasurer Ann Markey and the school secretary, Yvonne for their work in processing the forms. It is a substantial amount of money and a great boost to the board’s finances in these challenging times.

Novelty Day/Charity Fundraising
Rang a Sé’s Novelty Day raised over €3,000 through the raffle, book and cake sales, face painting, nail painting, karaoke and other such activities. This total is an outstanding achievement. The beneficiaries will be announced in the New Year.
€600 was raised for Goal’s Relief, Rehabilitation and Development Programmes on Goal Jersey Day.
The Focus Food Appeal was very successful and several large boxes were filled. Well done, all involved.
As is customary, we will run a charity non-uniform day tomorrow. (Each pupil is requested to give a €2 coin for the “privilege” of wearing his/her own clothes.) The beneficiary is Focus Ireland .
Parents’ Association
Many thanks to committee members and others who helped with various events this term. A special thanks to all involved in organising the Wine Tasting Evening and to the volunteers who look after the Library.
