THE GREY WOLF

DESCRIPTION
The grey wolf ( a.k.a. timber wolf) is an amazing animal. If you see an animal between 5 and 7 feet long with a grayish brown/black/white coat of fur with bright, golden eyes you have met this magnificent predator.

HABITS
Don’t worry, grey wolves don’t usually eat humans, but elk, deer, rodents and sometimes cats. They have 40 sharp teeth and can hear noises up to 30 miles away. They are immensely strong and fast and in packs from 30 to 260.

ENDANGERED
Grey wolves are endangered because people are scared of them and hunt them. They take the fur to sell. In some countries laws have been passed to stop this prejudice.

HABITAT
These wolves live in Asia and Europe in mountains, plains, desert and snow.
