May 16th 2003

On Friday 16^th May President Mc Aleese came to open our new community centre.There were lots of important political people present for the occasion. The Lord Mayor, Seamus Brennan, Olivia Mitchell and Tom Kitt. There were lotos of Gardaí around too.  The boys and girls of 2nd class were dissappointed as unfortunately we could not have our Guard of Honour as the rain was too heavy.

We had a mass before she opened the community centre. The Scoil San Treasa choir sang for the mass. There were nearly 200 children singing in our choir and we sounded fantastic!

The President talks and compliments  Rory, who sang a solo of  'Céad Míle Fáilte Romhat ' at the Mass.

  After the mass President Mc Aleese went down to the community centre. Some of the Priests including Monsignor McMahon said a prayer before she officially opened it. There were lots of past parish priests present fot he opening. She then made a lovely speech about the community centre.

Then Shane & Lauren presented her with flowers and a card. Then Fr. Mc Manus presented her with a picture.
