The Pyramids

 

NAME: The great Pyramids of Giza

                

WHERE: They are located in Egypt

 

ARCHITECT: The architect is unknown.

 

USE: They were built as tombs for kings and other prominent figures.

 

MATERIAL: The Pyramids were built out of cut stone blocks.

FACTS: The Pyramids were the tallest buildings in the world until this century. It took 2.3 million stone blocks to complete this great monument. The Pyramids could be used as a sundial to tell the time. When the kings were buried they would be buried with all their treasures and their pets. The great Pyramid is 147 metres tall.
