Séan Óg Ó hAilpín visits Scoil San Treasa, May 10th  2006.
Seán Óg Ó hAilpín is a player on the Cork hurling team; he visited our school on the 10th of May.He talked to us about his life and career. We enjoyed his speech immensely. He told us he was born on the island of Rotuma (Fiji) and that since he was a boy he wanted to be a hurler. In 1999 he became a dual star, a player of both hurling and GAA at a senior level. A car crash in 2001 almost ended his career, as his knee cap was severed, however, he overcame this difficulty and fought his way back to fitness. In 2004 he was named “player of the year.”In 2005 he was appointed captain of the team. After he did the speech in the school hall he went out into the yard used the sliotar hitter with some pupils. He signed loads of jerseys and hurls. He brought the Munster cup to the school, people got pictures with him and the cup. Everybody had a really great time.
