Step 7.  Scoil San Treasa’s Drew Up A Green Code :

The following steps were taken:

·        awareness raising by class teachers on matters environmental

·        investigation by individual children on the problem of waste

·        a presentation at school assembly on how long it takes various pieces of refuse to break down in a land-fill site

·        A brainstorming session at assembly which produced the key words to be used in the code…

A laminated  copy of the Green Code has been put in every class and teachers and Green Committee members encourage the school community to think ‘Green Code’ always.

In acknowledging the importance of Environmental Awareness and Action

we the pupils and staff of Scoil San Treasa pledge to reduce, reuse and recycle, not just in school but in our homes and in encouraging Environmentally Friendly practice in the wider community.
