Step 3.            We Drew Up An Action Plan

The Green School Committee considered the findings of the Litter Survey and decided on a Plan of Action to reduce the amount of rubbish that was being put into the bins in Scoil San Treasa and that by so doing the amount of rubbish going to the land-fill would be reduced by 50% by the end of June 2006   ie. One bin per week rather than the two which were being filled each week up until now.
GOAL : To  reduce the number of bins filled for the land-fill by 50% by the end of June 2006

A brainstorming session at school assembly in November generated targets for the action plan.  It was agreed that the school would prioritise the goal of reducing the number of bins filled for the land-fill by 50% by the end of June 2006 (i.e. one bin rather than two).
